Lever Today is in production and in daily use. It is the first product we have taken from a whiteboard sketch to a system that operations teams open before their inbox, and the first one where launch genuinely was the middle rather than the end.

We rolled out to one team, then four, then everyone — three weeks apart. The staged rollout was not caution for its own sake; each cohort surfaced a different class of problem. The first found the bugs, the second found the missing permissions, and the third found that our notification defaults were wrong for anyone who was not already looking at the product all day.

The thing we would keep: the engineers who wrote each area handled support for it during rollout. Feedback arrived at the person who could act on it, without a translation layer, and the median fix landed the same week.

The thing we would change: we should have instrumented the empty states. We had metrics on everything people did and nothing on the moments they opened a screen and found nothing useful. That is the part we are fixing next.
